Just seen this bob. You can just about make out the deflectors in this picture We all had to use them and they did make a difference. Also take octane booster with you.

beam benders defo recomended as people flash u coz ur blinding them. Get the lights nice and hot before fitting them as they go on much easier. They usually come wit fitting instructions thats what we followed.
Octane booster is a must!!!!!

I "forgot" when I went to france in the boring family car a few weeks ago - and drive 9 hours through the night! I'd be more worried about the pesky speed cameras that flash up your number plate on the side of the road!!!

They can't issue you a ticket if you ain't from that country. No europe wide police co-operation on that front yet.
However if you ttraveller somewher like Nord-Pas-de-Calais in France they will pull you over if you've got english plates and give you a right ear full, and probably an on the spot fine, and drive you to a cash machine.
I've got modern Wipac freeform headlights (which incidently are amazing) and didn't trust sticking deflectors onto the plastic lens. Instead I got some accetate (like you got in school for the over heads) cut a strip and covered one half in gaffer tape. Stuck it acreoss the lights onto the chrome ring on either side. Worked well.
