hi just bought a mini cooper.. its had its wiring redone recent and the fuses don't seem to be in the usual place. alot looks as though they are in the wire run?? haven't had a good look but basically the wipers don't move at all. i can't hear the motor making any noise when i lever is up to make them go.
does anyone have any suggestions or know where i can get a cheap motor to slave in and test?
thanks in advance. craig craig21safc@yahoo.co.uk
- also hoping to join in with any events. do mini meets still happen on wednesdays? i work in cheadle area.

Take a look to find the fuse box, its either inside the car or on the bulkhead in the engine bay. I think the wiper fuse is on its own though maybe around the bulkhead area, like a glass cylinder type fuse.

After the fuses check that the wiper motor is getting power as it maybe the motor that has died.

i've checked thi sout.. i can only see 3 fuses at the bulkhead between engine and dash. all are ok. the iper motor is held in by a big p clip. i unfastened this and turned it round. there are 3 wires. a yellow wire from motor is snapped. the other end is a smaller earth wire which is loose and i assume should be connected together. hoever, i touched earth with the wire and tried it and did not fix. the wires run from the motor to a little terminal block on the motor and i could not detect any power with my fluke.
any help?? where next to look?

the motor its self needs an earth, constant feed and 2 switched feeds, one for slow n one for fast speed. If you can no constant supply it will be a problem between the fuse box and the motor. switched feed problems means you need to be checking feeds etc at the switch. A wiring diagram goes along way.
Can still have a look for you if your strugglein
