Ive got a 1998 Mpi, every so often as I come to a stop at traffic lights etc the revs creep up to about 2500 to 3000 revs. If I give her a quick couple of revs this resolves the problem til I have to stop again Anyone had problems like this and more importantly how do I cure it.

They sometimes do that if there are air leaks on the intake manufold, check weather the air filter box is loose or various vac pipes split. But really needs a diagnostic check like paul said. ROJ.

Had it down to the local rolling road and they told me it had a leak on the inlet manifold, new gasket fitted and also had the injectors cleaned. Running miles better now. Also going to have the throttle body replaced for a 52mm alloy version when I can get my hands on one. Will be in touch when that comes off Paul.

Why do you need the 52mm throttle? the 48mm is more than up to the job
